Calvert 22 Gallery



Curators of the Calvert 22 Gallery talk to Melanie about their new season: 'How is it Towards the East? The season looks at the influence of Eastern European immigrants on the areas political history - both personal and public, starting with the Boundary estate. From walking tours tracing radical women activists and emigre political publishing, to panel discussions discussing the relevance of the marxist ideology and independent publishing workshops - there's a lot to do and see.

Thursday, 2nd May 
Half-truth @ the Gallery in Red Church street. Art exhibition that takes us to a world of mystery and wonder. Daily  from 10 PM to 6 PM and free.

Friday, 3rd May
"Oh My God!" night @ Bethnal Green Working Men's Club. Legs Akimbo are putting together  an event about sin and guilt, where there will be comedy performances from special guests and many DJ's from 8:30 PM. Tickets start at £5.

Spin London @ Old Truman Brewery.  Weekend event all about Cycling. Starts from 5 PM and tickets from £5.

Saturday, 4th May 
Summer series on the roof  launch party @ Netil House. Plenty of music, DJ's, cocktails, street food from 2 PM. Tickets start at £10.

Kaked on the Terrace @ Cargo. A free all day party with DJ's to celebrate the nice weather! From 12 PM.

Sunday, 5th May
Land of Kings Festival @ Dalston. In this annual Music and Arts Festival  there will be gigs,  secret feasts, record labels showcases, cinema all you can imagine basically! From 2 PM to 5 AM. Tickets are now £35 for the whole festival.

Streetfest @ Hearn Street, Shoreditch. Urban Culture festival to support emerging talent from painters to skaters, riders, rappers. Live demonstrations, shows and screenings from 1 PM. Tickets start at £15.

Monday the 6th
Monday unplugged @ Ryan's bar. Little open mic session from 8 PM and free.
